Update: The organizers of the Formula 1-style go-karting event, Hidden Media Network, said they are in the process of rescheduling. Tickets are no longer available through Eventbrite, which has removed the original event posting linked in this story.

Have you ever dreamed of being a race car driver? Do you have a black-and-white checkered flag that’s just gathering dust? Live out your need for speed with a Formula 1-style go-karting experience coming to San Francisco this summer.

Starting September 30, you can whirl around a sinuous race course track in a sporty state-of-the-art go-kart.

“Take on the track and feel the rush of the wind as you zip past your opponents, navigating challenging turns and hairpin bends,” the experience’s Eventbrite description states. “You'll feel like a true racing pro as you compete for the top spot on the leaderboard.”

Event organizers say that this “adrenaline-fueled event is designed to bring out your inner speed demon” and push your driving skills to the limit. It’s also a chance to connect with fellow racing enthusiasts and make some thrill-seeking friends. Experienced drivers may be at an advantage, but a team of experienced go-karters will be on hand to teach newbies the ropes. If you’re used to white-knuckling the Highway 101 interchange at Cesar Chavez Street, you’re already ready.

So buckle up. The experience goes through October 1 at The Crossing at East Cut.
