In a letter, California housing officials warned the Board of Supervisors to pass a key housing reform bill as originally proposed. 

“This is not a policy discussion. This is a political discussion,” said Supervisor Aaron Peskin during Tuesday’s vote.

Starting on Jan. 1, the typical PG&E electricity and gas customer will see their rates rise about $34.50—13%—compared with current bills.

The legislation authored by California state Sen. Scott Wiener now heads to the governor’s desk. 

The Board of Supervisors failed to override Mayor Breed’s veto, but there’s another fourplex proposal waiting in the wings.
