Opinion: It’s time for SF to rethink street lighting

From blight to light: SF streets are either dim or lit like freeways, with consequences for nightlife, public safety and simple aesthetics.


The city’s core has dozens of privately owned, public open spaces, ranging from beautifully maintained terraces to subterranean urban crevasses. 

The proposal says the city could shelter 2,000 people for $64 million a year.

The spooky scene looks different from last year’s.

With big screens, leagues of fans and lots to eat and drinks, these local pubs are a great place to catch all the action.
