El Tri will take the field in the Bay Area as part of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The National Women’s Soccer League’s 14th team will begin play in March 2024, with help from a FIFA Women’s World Cup hero.

The schedule has yet to be announced, but fans may have a chance to see the United States or Mexico play in the Bay Area.

As professional sports teams have left or are looking to leave Oakland, the Roots want to fill the void.
