Advocates say San Francisco violated homeless sweeps ban

Members of the Coalition on Homelessness said they have already observed the city unlawfully break up tent encampments.

Filed by the Coalition on Homelessness, the lawsuit seeks to block encampment sweeps and incentivize production of more affordable housing.

Supportive housing providers have evicted 774 people since 2018, according to the city’s homelessness department.
