The police commission passed the policy in February and the police union has since fought to reverse it. 

The allegations about the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission surfaced in a new whistleblower lawsuit.

The latest charges have been filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and by prosecutors in Manhattan. 

A mayoral appointee broke with Breed in a consequential vote over who leads the Police Commission.

The mayor’s No. 2 acknowledged that Breed used a “subjective standard” to determine who signed the letters—and who didn’t.
