Once the most visionary system in the world, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) opened for passenger service 50 years ago this week.

The city’s transit agency is cracking down on bus drivers who abuse their breaks. Operators say they’re being punished for the actions of a few.

San Francisco’s Downtown BART stations have shown the largest recovery in the transit system, leading the way to a ridership high last month.

Residents were able to question Supervisor Shamann Walton and challenger Brian Sam Adam on crime, transit issues and controversial attack ads.
