San Francisco’s Union Square loses huge luxury furniture store as Coco Republic says it’s closing

The arrival of the upscale furniture brand in 2022 had been heralded as a sign that Downtown may be bouncing back. 

Madewell, the denim and contemporary clothing brand, said on its website that the store at 845 Market St. will close on Monday.

The Old Navy flagship store in Downtown San Francisco will close its Market Street location on July 1, according to a company spokesperson.
