The NEH had $17.8 million in active grants to Bay Area humanities projects.

The restored, 20th anniversary version of the famed documentary film opens up at the Roxie on Friday.  

The project will examine Mac Dre’s instrumental role in the hyphy movement of the early 2000s. 

The documentary about the exotic dancer will have its Bay Area premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival. 


The film tells the story of the athlete’s developmental years before stardom.
