On April 19, 2022, former Supervisor David Campos and current District 6 Supervisor Matt Haney are facing off to represent the eastern side of San Francisco in the California State Assembly. The winner of this special election runoff will hold the seat until the end of the year, and voters in the district will vote again in June and November for the full assemblymember term starting in 2023.
