San Francisco’s Portola EDM festival announces 2023 dates

The Portola electronic music festival is officially returning to San Francisco for a second year this fall, organizers announced Wednesday.

Mother Bar, a femme-centered LGBTQ+ watering hole near 16th and Valencia streets, will open in January, as long as everything goes to plan.

Sunday’s free show at Golden Gate Park’s Robin Williams Meadow brought veteran and up-and-coming performers to entertain thousands.

Plus, remembering the Cockettes, Ani DiFranco plays the Fillmore and Rakim rocks the mic at The Independent.
