Fresh building plans for almost 100 affordable homes near Oakland’s Jack London Square and Chinatown have been unveiled.

The city is still falling far short of building enough homes to meet demand, and the future doesn’t look promising either. 

Buying two-bedroom condos for around $700K, these San Francisco homeowners say the tradeoff for the deals is isolation.

The bills included a cut in affordable housing quotas and impact fees, and a plan to ease additional units on single-family home lots.
