The policy is already playing out as part of a broader effort by SF’s appointed DA to hold serious drug dealers accountable.

DA Jenkins and Mayor Breed are likely to reignite a hot-button issue by asking for an exception to the rules for two Mexican nationals.

The neighborhood has been bargaining with officials to escape its status as a containment zone for San Francisco’s ills. 

From now on, SFPD said it will “confirm that vendors have no violations before finalizing any procurements.” 

The woman and fetus were in stable condition after the Nov. 19 shooting.
