Actor Jane Fonda is set to visit a popular Mission District cafe on Nov. 2.

Fonda will appear for an evening fundraising event at Manny's cafe and community space on 16th Street.

The event will charge between $15 for a virtual ticket and $5,000 for a chair, and will raise funds for the Jane Fonda Climate PAC.

It will begin with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. followed by a town hall interview with the star at 6:40 p.m. Tickets for the town hall are on sale for $20.

The PAC's website says it will "do what it takes to defeat fossil fuel supporters and elect climate champions at all levels of government."

It's not Fonda's first foray into San Francisco politics: The climate activist recently endorsed District 6 supervisor candidate Honey Mahogany.

The announcement was made via email and a YouTube video from her namesake political organization.

“I have been a fan of Jane Fonda for years,” Mahogany said. “She’s been an activist who speaks truth to power. I look up to her, and this endorsement means a lot to me.”

Mahogany is challenging incumbent Supervisor Matt Dorsey, whose reelection bid has been endorsed by Mayor London Breed, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins and state Sen. Scott Wiener, among others. Two other candidates, Ms. Billie Cooper and Cherelle Jackson, are also running.

District 6 includes SoMa, Mission Bay, East Cut and Treasure Island.

Manny's is owned by Manny Yekutiel, a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency board member.

Tickets for the event are on sale here.
