A Stockton man named Douglas Sharron Piggee Jr. was indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 9 on an alleged robbery charge relating to a chicken wings restaurant.

The 51-year-old was also charged with brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.

Piggee allegedly robbed employees of Stockton's Fire Wings restaurant while brandishing a loaded Polymer Glock, a privately manufactured handgun, in July 2022, according to court documents.

Piggee is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition because he has previously been convicted of seven felonies, including armed bank robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case is the product of an investigation by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily G. Sauvageau is prosecuting the case.

If convicted, Piggee faces a minimum statutory penalty of seven years in prison, a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
