The Santa Cruz Warriors are continuing a yearly tradition on Saturday afternoon when they play at Chase Center, the home of their NBA affiliate.

Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Charge, the G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, is set to tip off at 12:30 p.m., with the first 10,000 fans to receive a special Captain Klay Thompson Bobblehead.

The bobblehead commemorates the Warriors’ 2022 championship parade, in which Thompson wore a captain’s hat after losing his own NBA Championship hat on the ferry taking him from Oakland to San Francisco.

Only the lower bowl is being sold for Saturday’s game, unless demand necessitates opening the upper level at the last minute. With fees, the cheapest tickets on StubHub currently go for $55—far more expensive than a typical G League game, but much less than it would cost to see an NBA game at the same venue, especially one with a bobblehead giveaway.

Santa Cruz’s roster is currently led by former San Diego State star Jordan Schakel. Isaiah Mobley, who was drafted out of USC in 2022, plays for Cleveland’s affiliate.

Fans that haven’t made the trek to Kaiser Permanente Arena for a G League game should note one significant difference from an NBA game: the number of free throws shot. Aside from the final two minutes of regulation and overtime, a player fouled on a two-point shot shoots one free throw to earn two points, and a player fouled while attempting a 3-pointer shoots a single free throw worth three points.
