When The Standard broke the news of the misspelled San Francisco Giants hat, there was only one logical next step to take: We had to see if we could get one.
Some 20 minutes before running the initial story about the Pro Standard Black 2012 World Series Old English Snapback Hat, a Standard staffer tried to order one through MLB.com’s official shop.
A day later, the bad news arrived in the form of an email with the subject, “Regarding Your MLBShop.com Order.”

“Thank you for choosing us to take care of your merchandising needs! We wanted to reach out to let you know that we were unable to fulfill the item(s) below,” the message read. “This is usually because the item is out of stock.”
