When The Standard broke the news of the misspelled San Francisco Giants hat, there was only one logical next step to take: We had to see if we could get one.

Some 20 minutes before running the initial story about the Pro Standard Black 2012 World Series Old English Snapback Hat, a Standard staffer tried to order one through MLB.com’s official shop.

A day later, the bad news arrived in the form of an email with the subject, “Regarding Your MLBShop.com Order.”
