Multiple suspected illegal firearms loaded with high-capacity magazines were seized recently from a 19-year-old man in San Francisco, police said this week.

The suspect, identified as Adir Mullen-Johnson of San Francisco, was held on a search warrant following shootings in the city in July, the San Francisco Police Department said in a news release.

Police said investigators observed Mullen-Johnson, who was accompanied by three other people, in the area of the first block of Dakota Street on July 27.

When officers detained Mullen-Johnson and his companions, a loaded firearm with a high-capacity magazine and another loaded magazine were allegedly discovered in their possession.

Officers then served the search warrant to Mullen-Johnson's residence at Dakota Street and found three illegal firearms, including a loaded assault-style pistol. Firearm accessories, ammunition and other evidence were also seized, police said.

According to police, officers also found probable cause to arrest one of the detained companions, identified as 19-year-old Asad Mullen-Johnson. Details of his relationship with Adir were not immediately available.

Adir and Asad were transported to San Francisco County Jail. Adir was booked on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in public, carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm and owning or possessing a firearm under the age of 30.

Asad was booked on suspicion of possession of an assault weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public and altering or removing any identifying marks on a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing.
