A person was seriously injured after a shooting in San Francisco early Monday, police said.

Police responded to Market and Jones streets at around 12:18 a.m. to a report of a shooting and found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was sitting inside her vehicle when she was shot, police said.

Officers rendered aid and summoned paramedics to the scene, who then transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed they responded to the area for a reported traumatic injury and transported a victim who was in serious condition to a local trauma center.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
