Temps had reached 92 degrees in parts of the city by 2:30 p.m., according to The Weather Channel.

Daytime highs were expected to hit from the high-90s to low-100s in the interior valleys of the East Bay and North Bay.

A heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday for nearly the entire region, except for along the coast. Conditions are expected to cool slightly later in the week but remain above normal.
