Video from the scene showed over a dozen San Francisco police and fire vehicles parked near 24th and Harrison streets. 

A person’s death in the early hours of Tuesday morning is being investigated as a homicide, San Francisco police said.

Sources told The Standard he is not planning to leave the San Francisco Police Department.

The San Francisco Police Department—the agency whose officers shot the man to death—maintained Friday that the man was carrying a handgun. 

The armed man was found by police as they responded to a report of a robbery in the Tenderloin, officials said.
