Beloved San Francisco Vietnamese restaurant Turtle Tower closes Tenderloin location

The 23-year-old Tenderloin shop was known for its phở ga, a chicken version of the popular beef broth and noodle soup.

Opened in 2000, the Turtle Tower in the city’s SoMa neighborhood served its last bowl of Hanoi-style pho in November.

A controversial couple have been trying to redevelop the site blocks from Ocean Beach for years, pissing off both NIMBYs and YIMBYs. 

The new owners want to renovate the vacant property to cash in on the AI wave.
