The federal government requires the Point-in-Time Count every two years. Those who actually conduct it say it’s confusing.

Once implemented, San Francisco would join New York City in barring the turns in an effort to increase safety and save lives.   

San Francisco’s count of homeless people was so confusing this year that the city did recounts across four different areas.

The two sites contain a total of 274 housing units of varying sizes, including 200 units intended exclusively for families.

San Francisco Police responded to bomb threats at two schools early Thursday, but no explosives were found.
