The manager at Salt & Straw’s Hayes Valley shop said drug users have been stealing five to 10 pints of ice cream daily.

Pushing everything from cookies to frozen pizza, local restaurateurs are invading home kitchens with packaged goods. 

A smaller concept from the department store brand won approval to open on Fillmore Street, amid neighborhood opposition.


Hint: It won't get all cash for the property and probably can’t leave even if it wants to.
