A man injured in a shooting last week in San Francisco’s Western Addition has succumbed to his injuries, police said Thursday.
Officials identified the victim as 21-year-old Toriano Carpenter.
Officers responded at 11:17 p.m. on Sept. 6 to a report of a shooting by Turk and Buchanan streets and found casings and bullet holes in the 600 block of Larch Way, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
No victim was found at the scene, but investigators say they learned that within minutes of the report of the shooting, someone was dropped off at a hospital with gunshot wounds that police linked to the Larch Way shooting.
That person turned out to be Carpenter, whom officials say succumbed to his injuries two days later.
No arrest has been made in the case.
SFPD urges anyone with information about the shooting to call the department’s tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send details by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
