New ‘boutique’ grab & go patisserie opening in the Marina

The brains behind Marina restaurant Boho are bringing a new “boutique” patisserie, called Boho Petite, to Chestnut Street.

Sandwiched between Over the Moon Creamery and Blackwood Thai along the Marina’s main commercial corridor, the slim glass storefront, adorned with faux flowers on its facade, is expected to soft-open this Thursday and will offer pastries, coffee, sandwiches, porridge, Belgian waffles and other breakfast foods to-go.

While permitting and construction delays pushed back the originally anticipated July opening, co-owner Stella Roller believes that now is actually the perfect time for the Boho restaurant family to expand. In chef Clément Digani, Roller thinks that Boho has found the perfect French pastry chef for the job and is excited to see how Boho’s little sibling will perform on Chestnut Street.

The tiny to-go concept was developed in part to feed the needs of the community and fulfill a long-held dream of Boho’s owners to serve French pastries as part of their offerings. Roller told The Standard that Boho developed Boho Petite after hearing from Apple Store workers across the street that there were not enough breakfast food options available in the area. Roller also thinks that Boho Petite could become a new favorite with folks working from home in the neighborhood.

“We decided to be brave and open,” Roller said.

Those looking to check out Boho Petite during its soft opening can start stopping by on Thursday, Nov. 17. The new pastry shop will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Mondays. Check Boho restaurant’s website for updates.
