Mail Carrier Robbed at Gunpoint by Woman Near Ocean Beach

A mail carrier was robbed by a woman brandishing a firearm south of Golden Gate Park on the afternoon of Feb. 17, according to the San Francisco Police Department. 

The victim was completing a delivery in the Outer Sunset when he said he saw an unknown woman rummaging through his mail carrier cart.

When confronted by the mail carrier, the female suspect pulled out a firearm. She then got into a vehicle waiting nearby with stolen mail and packages and fled the scene, police said.

The robbery happened on La Playa between Irving and Judah streets, located near Ocean Beach and the end of the Muni N Line.

Police said this is an active and ongoing investigation.
