The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area calls for warm conditions under sunny skies Tuesday, which should be the hottest day in this heat wave.
Temps had reached 92 degrees in parts of the city by 2:30 p.m., according to The Weather Channel.
Daytime highs were expected to hit from the high-90s to low-100s in the interior valleys of the East Bay and North Bay.
A heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday for nearly the entire region, except for along the coast. Conditions are expected to cool slightly later in the week but remain above normal.
Overnight lows are expected in the high 50s to mid 60s.
