District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has announced that David DePape will have six felony charges filed against him Monday, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and elder abuse.

The DA’s Office said DePape will be arraigned on Tuesday following the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul at their Pacific Heights home in the early hours of Friday morning. The other charges filed Monday: threatening family member of a public official and false imprisonment.

Mr. Pelosi was hit with a hammer during the incident and later underwent a successful fractured skull surgery, according to the speaker's spokesperson, Drew Hammill. He is expected to make a full recovery.

DA Jenkins thanked 911 dispatcher Heather Grives, who took the call from Mr. Pelosi, for instinctually realizing that something was wrong and immediately calling police officers to respond.

"Thanks to her quick decision, officers Kolby Wilmes and Kyle Cagney responded within two minutes and apprehended Mr. DePape and likely saved Mr. Pelosi’s life," Jenkins said in a statement Sunday. "Violence like this has no place in San Francisco, or our politics, and we will hold Mr. DePape accountable to the fullest extent of the law."
