An eight-story apartment building may be destined for the site of a San Francisco hot pot restaurant, new plans reveal.
The apartments would be built in the Richmond on the site of the Grand Hot Pot Lounge, which would be demolished.
The 105-foot building's 63 homes would be a mix of 28 one-bedroom apartments, 28 two-bedrooms and 7 three-bedrooms. The ground level would have space for a business to move into.
Of the project's 16 affordable homes, seven would have rent targeted to households earning below 55% of the Area Median Income, five at below 80% AMI and four earning above 80% AMI.
Home sizes would range from roughly 400 square feet for most one- and two-bedroom units to more than 800 square feet for three-bedrooms.
The housing would sit above a basement-level garage with 17 spots for cars, two electric car charging stations and seven motorcycles.
The roof would have a 3,240-square-foot open deck for residents and a 386-square-foot central courtyard on the second floor.
The 38-Geary bus runs alongside the project's location.
Property records show that the current 9,055-square-foot building occupied by the restaurant was last sold in December 2005 for $2.85 million and was originally constructed in 1946.
The new project would total 66,294 square feet between the planned commercial and residential space.
