Three major blazes have destroyed homes and blanketed the city with a dangerous, thick cloud of smoke and ash.

One victim was stabbed to death and another shot dead in unconnected slayings.

San Francisco police said both victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.
