Car crashes into building in San Francisco’s Marina District

A vehicle struck a building and a pedestrian in San Francisco's Marina District on Saturday afternoon.

At about 1 p.m. April 8, police officers responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Lombard and Octavia streets. A white Hyundai Tucson had struck an apartment building and a pedestrian at the southeast corner of the intersection; a vehicle also fled the scene, according to a police spokesperson.

Medics arrived and assessed for injuries, but police had no further information on the condition of the pedestrian or whether they were transported for medical treatment.

A traffic light was dislodged and fell to the sidewalk on Octavia Street during the incident.

A police officer directed traffic at the intersection on Saturday afternoon as another spoke to pedestrians.
