A North Bay high school campus remains closed after a bomb threat.

Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley received a bomb threat at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning. 

Students were evacuated to the football field and then to the Mill Valley Community Center to meet their parents, a parent told The Standard. 

An emergency Nixle alert was sent out at 10:01 a.m. saying there was police activity at the high school but did not give any specifics.

“You don’t know if there is a shooter or if someone pulled a fire alarm,” said Mill Valley parent David Howard. His stepson soon called his mom to say all students were evacuated to the community center and then released.

At 10:24 a.m. another Nixle alert reported the following message: “Tam High received a bomb threat and the campus has been evacuated. The Tam High campus is closed to the public. We request you stay out of the area and residents in the area should continue to shelter in place. Students should not be returning to campus to collect any belongings or vehicles.”

The campus remained closed until law enforcement gave the "all clear" just before 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. No further details about the threat have been released to the public.

Calls for comment from Tamalpais High School administrators and Mill Valley Police Department have not been returned.
