San Jose police say they have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife after responding to a call on Tuesday, shortly before 7 p.m.
Officers went to Foxdale Loop after receiving a report of a dead woman at a home, a news release on the arrest said.
When police arrived, they found an adult woman who was not conscious or breathing. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police report was made by the woman’s husband, who was detained at the home by officers and later arrested on suspicion of killing her. Police say he will likely be identified in the coming days.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, the news release said.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after her next of kin is notified.
This is the city’s fifth slaying of 2023.
