San Jose Police Officer Injured in Shootout

A San Jose police officer was shot and sustained a non-life-threatening injury Friday night in a gunfight that began with a traffic stop near downtown and ended with a backyard standoff two miles away in East San Jose.
The San Jose Police Department's official Twitter page posted an account of the incident:
We are currently investigating an Officer involved shooting that began with a vehicle stop near the intersection of King and Story Rds.

A person was pulled over at 10:29 p.m. near the intersection of King and Story roads and allegedly began shooting at two patrol officers, striking a squad car. The officers returned fire, hitting the fleeing vehicle.
Police tracked the suspect to a suburban backyard on Sinbad Avenue, where a suspect again opened fire, striking a member of a special operations unit who was taken to a hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The shooter eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
