As California endures its second snowiest season in 77 years, images taken in the Tahoe area capture both the intensity and beauty of the snow’s impact.
The UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab reports that this season is now the second snowiest on record, with over 56.4 feet of snowfall in the Sierras. This surpasses the storm of 1982-83, which had 55.9 feet. The top spot still belongs to the 1951-52 season, which collected a total of 67.7 feet.
As the region prepares for even more snow, winter sports enthusiasts are rejoicing. However, residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution and follow travel advisories due to the heavy snow and high winds impacting the area.
