Man Shot to Death on 580 in Oakland

A driver with multiple gunshot wounds was found on eastbound 580 near Park Boulevard late Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Officials said they were called to the scene of a crash at around 10:30 p.m., and the Oakland Fire Department pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was male and in his late 50s, KTVU reported.

The highway was shut down for most of the night and reopened just before 5 a.m., according to CHP.
