A Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a September 2022 shooting in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point, authorities announced Thursday.

Lynell Peterson, 26, was arrested Wednesday in Sacramento by the U.S. Marshals and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

San Francisco investigators identified Peterson as a suspect in the incident just over 10 months after the fatal shooting of a man on the 5000 block of Third Street on Sept. 24, 2022, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Peterson remains jailed without bail in Sacramento County, records show. It is unclear when he will appear in court for his arraignment.
