The annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will take over much of Golden Gate Park this weekend, with some 75,000 festivalgoers expected to attend each day. City agencies are preparing for the extra congestion, closing roads, setting up taxi and loading zones and blackout zones.
Here’s what you need to know.
John F. Kennedy Drive from Transverse Drive to 36th Avenue will be closed to vehicles through Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
Vehicle access to the park will be limited beginning Thursday through 11 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. These park entrances will be closed to the public:
North Side
South Side
Taxi Stands
Taxi stands will be at the following locations from Friday at 9 a.m. to Monday at 2 a.m.
Ride-Hail and Bus Loading Zones
Vehicle pickup and drop-off areas, including ride-hail vehicles and private buses will be located in the following areas:
Blackout Zones
Vehicle pickups and drop-offs will be prohibited on these streets on Friday and Saturday from 9 to 11:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Citations will be issued for loading blackout zones, according to the transportation agency:
