Caltrain won't be increasing ticket fares until 2025, according to officials.

Caltrain's board of directors initially set a 50-cent fare increase for July 2022 and 50 cents in July 2027 but has now adopted a new fare structure, which will increase fares by 25 cents on July 1, 2025, and a further 25 cents in 2027.

Caltrain's electrification project is slated to be finished in 2024.

The decision to halt ticket fares comes as Caltrain announced ridership is 21% higher than it was this time last year.
