A two-car crash killed a pedestrian in San Francisco's Lower Nob Hill late Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.

San Francisco police say the officers responded at 11:10 a.m. to reports of a crash on the 800 block of Post Street, where they found a car that smashed into another vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian died on the spot, officials determined, while the driver of the vehicle that was struck came away unscathed.

SFPD arrested the driver of the car that careened into the vehicle and pedestrian.

Officials say the investigation is still active, and charges have not yet been determined.

Police advised people to avoid the area because of street closures while officers collect evidence and interview witnesses.

Bystanders told The Standard that the victim was a woman. Her body was carted away on a gurney at around 1:15 p.m.
