Woman dies after San Francisco stabbing

A woman died after being stabbed Monday evening in the Tenderloin, San Francisco police said.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 7:20 p.m. and found the victim on Leavenworth Street between Eddy and Ellis streets with with life-threatening stab wounds.

Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to officials.

The identity of the woman has not been released. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been contacted for the woman's identity.

No arrest or motive has been announced in relation to the incident, officials said.

Investigators from the San Francisco Police Department Homicide detail are investigating the incident.
