Traveling to SFO? Expect traffic and overnight road closures

A number of road closures are slated to hit Highway 101 Tuesday night, limiting routes into the San Francisco Airport, according to airport officials.

According to the announcement, the following times and portions of the highway that will be closed include:

  • 8 p.m. Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. Wednesday: Northbound 101 offramp to South Airport Boulevard
  • 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. Wednesday: Southbound 101 offramp to Grand Avenue Airport Boulevard
  • 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. Wednesday: Southbound 101 offramp to Produce Avenue and Airport Boulevard
  • 10:00 p.m. Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. Wednesday: Southbound 101 from Broadway to Oyster Point Boulevard
  • Midnight Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. Wednesday: Northbound 101 on ramps from San Bruno Avenue and SFO

Travelers should make plans to allow for extra time traveling into the airport, officials said.

According to the California Department of Transportation, the closures are due to a number of highway construction repairs in the area.
