Two injured in Christmas Eve shooting near Fisherman’s Wharf

Two people were injured in a shooting near Fisherman's Wharf early Sunday, according to San Francisco police and fire officials.

Emergency responders were alerted to reports of shots fired at the corner of Jones and Bay streets at 1:11 a.m.

When police responded to the incident, they discovered that a physical altercation led to several people being injured. During the altercation, one individual used a firearm to strike the victims and later fired shots causing one person to suffer a gunshot wound on the leg. The other victim had minor injuries. The two were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

No suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting. The police department is continuing to investigate the incident.
