Two people were stabbed, one fatally, in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood on Thursday morning.

Police responded to the area of Mission and Washburn streets near Ninth Street around 5:37 a.m. and located two victims, a 45-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, suffering from apparent stab wounds, the San Francisco Police Department said. Officers rendered aid and summoned paramedics to the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said on Tuesday it has identified the man as 45-year-old Brandon Mitchell.
