Police found a loaded gun in the vehicle of a man who was allegedly making lewd gestures near a school in San Francisco’s Richmond District, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Geary Boulevard and 31st Avenue around 8:47 a.m. Tuesday and detained the occupant, identified as William Odom-Hickey, 53, the San Francisco Police Department said.
At the scene, officers met with a girl and two other adult women who “described numerous prior occasions” where the man had “behaved inappropriately” near the school, the department said. While placing Odom-Hickey under arrest, officers found a loaded firearm and additional magazines in his vehicle.
Odom-Hickey was booked at the county jail on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, indecent exposure, annoying or molesting a person under the age of 18, resisting arrest, destroying or concealing evidence, and willfully causing or permitting a child to suffer, police said.
The department did not provide any additional information about the allegations or the circumstances around his arrest.
