A Muni bus driver was the target of a shooting early Monday morning, the San Francisco Police Department said.

Officers responded shortly before 6 a.m. to Fourth and Berry streets near the Caltrain station after a man fired shots at a bus driver before fleeing on foot, the SFPD said in a statement Monday afternoon.

Police added that paramedics responded to the driver, who was not injured.

Officers arrested a man nearby. The SFPD did not name the suspect or share the potential charges, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 beginning with “SFPD.”

“This type of incident is extremely uncommon,” a Muni spokesman said.
