Old Glory fluttered in the breeze as veterans, active-duty members of the military, family of fallen soldiers and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gathered in observance of Memorial Day at San Francisco National Cemetery to honor those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The Travis Brass—a contingent of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West—performed the “Armed Forces Service Medley” and aircraft from the Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco flew overhead.

Ken Wayne, a Navy veteran and broadcast journalist from local news television station KRON 4, presided as master of ceremonies.

The Standard was on hand to capture the event. Click through the gallery to see photos from the celebration.
