A 60-year-old woman has been arrested for alleged felony hit-and-run after a woman was killed on Feb. 10 in San Jose, police said.

Traffic investigators and patrol officers found a vehicle they believe to have been used in the deadly hit-and-run collision at a residence near the crash site, a press release said.

Officers then arrested San Jose resident Kim Ngan Thi Mai for hit and run offenses. The 60-year-old has since posted bail and is no longer in custody.

Police say the suspect hit the woman around Morrill Avenue and Knights Bridge Road, near the Milpitas BART Station, shortly before 6 a.m., and the driver then fled the scene.

The female victim was taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has not yet been released.

The Feb. 10 collision marks the third pedestrian death and fifth traffic fatality in San Jose so far this year.
