Woman Killed in Early Morning San Jose Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run collision killed a woman in San Jose early Friday morning, police said.

A driver hit the woman around Morrill Avenue and Knights Bridge Road, near the Milpitas BART Station, shortly before 6 a.m. The driver then fled, the scene according to San Jose police.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has not yet been released.

The driver and vehicle descriptions have not yet been released.

Friday's collision marks the third pedestrian death and fifth traffic fatality in San Jose so far this year.
